Peanut Butter Cookies

2 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
flour

Mix together 2 1/2 cups flour and baking soda; set aside.
Cream together butter, peanut butter, sugar and brown sugar in bowl until light and fluffy using electric mixer at medium speed.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. 
Blend in vanilla.
Gradually stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture, blending well.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
Place balls about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets.
Flatten each ball with a floured fork, making a crisscross pattern.

Bake in a 350 degree oven 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from baking sheets, cool on racks.

Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
